About the SamTrans Board of Directors

The Board, whose members serve four-year terms, meets the first Wednesday of the month at 2:00 pm.  Agendas are available approximately one week before the meetings.  Comments to the board may be submitted to Board@SamTrans.com, by fax at 650-508-6281 or by writing to 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA, 94070.  Any correspondence to be included in the Board reading file must be received by 2:00 pm the day before the Board meeting.  Correspondence, including any personal information such as names and e-mail addresses, submitted to this agency will become disclosable public records. 

The Board of Directors consists of nine members from various leadership positions in the community with the following composition:

  • Two members from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors
  • One transportation expert appointed by the Board of Supervisors
  • Three city councilmembers, appointed by the City Selection Committee. Each councilmember represents a judicial district in San Mateo County.
  • Three public members, one of whom must reside on the Coastside, appointed by the above six members.
