Youth Riders

SamTrans is a safe, clean and convenient way to get to school. With buses traveling throughout San Mateo County, students and parents have come to rely on SamTrans for arriving at school on time.

SamTrans offers discounted fares for passengers 18 and younger.  Find out more on our Fares page.

In partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education, SamTrans provides free bus fares for Socioeconomically Disadvantaged (SED) students, as defined by the California Department of Education by swiping their pass in the farebox.  Click Youth Unlimited to learn more.
