In an effort to increase public access to meetings and to keep riders better informed, the Board of Directors meetings for SamTrans, Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority will begin live-streaming its meetings this week.
The meetings will be live-streamed by a cloud-based system serviced by Granicus.
SamTrans did a soft launch of the video system during its April Board meeting and will live-stream at its May meeting today at 2 p.m. Caltrain and the Transportation Authority Board will debut its live-streaming video option this Thursday. The following are links to the individual Board meetings:
“As our world is becoming increasingly interconnected, it is our responsibility to make it easier for the public to stay aware of the work we do,” said SamTrans General Manager/CEO Jim Hartnett. “We hope that by live-streaming our board meetings, we enhance government transparency and encourage more public participation.”
The SamTrans Board of Directors meets at 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month; Caltrain Board meets at 10 a.m. on the first Thursday; and the SMCTA Board meets at 5 p.m. on the first Thursday. All meetings will be video archived on each of the agency’s website.
