Why worry about figuring out a ride home on New Year’s Eve when you can travel on SamTrans for free?
Starting at 8 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m., SamTrans will allow passengers to board free of charge on all bus lines, as a way to encourage partygoers to leave their cars at home. Redi-Wheels, the San Mateo County Transit District’s paratransit service provider, also will offer free rides between those hours.
On the day of New Year’s Eve, SamTrans will run its regular weekend schedule. On New Year’s Day, SamTrans will operate on a Sunday schedule, which is less frequent than the weekday schedule and does not include routes that specifically serve schools or do not operate on a normal Sunday.
More information about SamTrans’ New Year’s Eve service plans can be found here.
