The new SamTrans service changes go into effect Sunday, January 17, restoring some service back to pre-pandemic levels in order to ensure onboard capacity allows for social distancing.
Route 250 will go back to running every 30 minutes, and will resume service to the College of San Mateo (CSM). Routes 260 and 294 will also go back to stopping at CSM, and will run once per hour. While most CSM students are still remote learning, the routes will provide them access to services. Routes 17, 110 and 295 will be adjusted slightly to improve the efficiency of the system.
SamTrans adjusts its scheduling and service operations three times a year to take into account changing traffic impacts, travel patterns and bus operator availability. The adjustments help improve on-time performance standards and make the bus system run more smoothly.
Members of the public interested in commenting on the changes can submit feedback through the SamTrans website.
