The San Mateo County Transit District Measure W Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC) will hold a public hearing this Thursday, July 22, to receive public comments on financial and performance audits of Measure W funds for the fiscal year which ended June 30, 2020.
In 2018, San Mateo County voters approved Measure W, a half-cent sales tax that provides a revenue source to SamTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA). The Measure W ordinance requires the District have an independent auditor annually review the receipts and expenditures of tax proceeds under the Congestion Relief Plan. The Measure W COC will hold the public hearing on the audit findings report and then issue a report showing how tax proceeds are being spent.
