SamTrans will add four new school-day routes and change the schedules of seven other lines on Sunday, August 7, as part of the agency's regular service adjustments.
Every four months, SamTrans adjusts its scheduling and service operations to take into account changing traffic impacts, travel patterns and bus operator availability. The adjustments help SamTrans improve on-time performance standards and make the bus system run more smoothly.
To improve reliability and efficiency for students travelling to local schools, SamTrans has added Routes 18, 56, 61 and 81. Those will serve Half Moon Bay High School, Aragon High School, Carlmont High School and Menlo-Atherton High School, respectively. They'll also serve middle schools in those towns.
Some of the scheduling adjustments include changes to Route 280, which will now serve West Bayshore Road and Woodland Avenue in Palo Alto, and the elimination of the FLX San Carlos shuttle, which was a pilot program that provided some on-demand service needs.

Additional documents detailing the new changes will be distributed onboard buses and at scheduled outlets.
