Ride Plus, the recently launched on-demand microtransit service from SamTrans, will begin collecting fares this Sunday, Feb. 11, in the two service zones where it operates.
During its promotional launch period, Ride Plus offered its services at no cost to passengers in Half Moon Bay, East Palo Alto and the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park.
Since its launch last June, the microtransit service has seen significant growth in popularity. December’s Ride Plus statistics show a total of nearly 3,700 trips, a significant jump from its already impressive September totals of roughly 2,800 trips.
“We’re so happy that Ride Plus continues to attract more passengers and we believe the trend will continue,” said SamTrans General Manager/CEO April Chan. “This service not only expands mobility options in the regions where it operates, it’s also offered at the same affordable fare as our fixed-route bus service.”
The Ride Plus fares that will be collected starting Sunday are as follows:

Standard: $2.25 ($2.05 with Clipper)

Youth and eligible discount: $1.10 ($1.00 with Clipper)

Transfers to fixed-route service within two hours (Clipper only)

Passes accepted
Rides can be booked using the Ride Plus app, which is available on both iOS and Android, online, or over the phone at 650-238-5880.
The fully accessible service operates seven days a week in East Palo Alto/Belle Haven from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and in Half Moon Bay from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
