Over the last two years, the Reimagine SamTrans project focused on convenience, flexibility, and route modernization to help people freely travel throughout San Mateo County. Welcome to the new SamTrans.
- New Routes include local route 142 which serves areas previously served by routes 140 and 141. Express route EPX between East Palo Alto and San Bruno BART take advantage of the Highway 101 Express Lanes, with trips to downtown San Francisco during morning and evening rush hours.
- New Ride Plus microtransit service in East Palo Alto/Belle Haven and Half Moon Bay/El Granada.
- Reintroduced Route 276.
- More frequent weekday service on six routes.
- More frequent or new weekend service on six routes.
- Improved routing on 15 routes, including new service to Oyster Point in South San Francisco and the Stanford University.
- Longer service hours on five routes.
- Consolidated routes: Local routes 274, 275 and 278 were consolidated into route 278. Local routes 251 and 256 were consolidated into a revised route 251. SamTrans consolidated school-oriented routes 39, 55, 95 and 84 into routes 37, 53, 61 and 83, respectively. In each case, two existing school-oriented routes became one route that serves more neighborhoods to the same schools. In some cases, this would result in a longer ride for some students, but service to almost all areas with existing ridership is still available.

Improvements since August include:
- More frequent service on weekdays, including the midday period, on eight routes (120, 250, 260, 276, 278, 292, 296, FCX)
- More frequent service on weekends on five routes (110, 120, 141, 250, 296)
- New weekend service on four routes (251, 260, 276, and 295)
- Two new limited stop routes to San Mateo County community colleges and reintroducing Route PCX (formerly Route 118)

Route CSM
New limited stop route between the San Mateo Caltrain Station and the College of San Mateo running every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends. Service starts at the Caltrain Station on Transit Center Way.
Route SKY
New limited stop route running every 30 minutes on weekdays between Daly City BART and Skyline College, serving the Serramonte Shopping Center and Westborough neighborhoods.
Route PCX
SamTrans is restoring previous Route 118 as Route PCX with improved routing. PCX is a limited stop route designed to provide a faster connection from Pacifica to Daly City BART. Previously, PCX served similar areas to Route 110.
SamTrans will be using Highway 1 instead of the parallel corridor, Oceana Blvd, between Brighton Road and Monterey Road. Using Highway 1 bus stops will make the route faster and provide a more direct connection. Stops on Oceana Blvd will continue to be served by Route 110.
Salesforce Transit Center
Starting August 4, routes 292, 397, EPX and FCX will serve Salesforce Transit Center. Riders will have connections to regional transit routes and improved waiting facilities.
