Don't be haunted by traffic and parking goblins. Ride SamTrans Route 294 and travel in good spirits to the 46th Annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival this weekend, Oct. 15 and 16. SamTrans drops off and picks up just steps from the festival and will provide hourly service on its Route 294 line to help accommodate the crowds attending the coast side event, which features the world’s biggest gourds, fantastical pumpkin carvings, live entertainment and plenty of other fun activities. For residents traveling on Caltrain, Route 294 is an easy, direct connection from the Hillsdale Caltrain Station. SamTrans also provides service from the Colma and Daly City BART stations – Routes 112 and 110 – that connect with Route 17 service in Pacifica to get festival attendees to Half Moon Bay. A full list of the SamTrans service plans for the Pumpkin Festival, including details on connection options from other transit systems, is available here. As a result of street closures for the Pumpkin Festival, SamTrans will run detours for its Route 17 and 294 bus lines. Passengers traveling on Route 17 and Route 294 should get off at the stop on Main Street and Poplar Street, which is just a short walk away from the festival grounds. Because of the heavy crowds, passengers should expect delays during the weekend. Traffic will be congested, but passengers on SamTrans can relax and enjoy an air conditioned ride instead of dealing with the headache of driving.
