SamTrans will honor Black History Month throughout February with its first-ever Black History Month wrapped bus (additional images), plus a Rosa Parks’ Birthday event as part of a community partnership.
The public celebration begins on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum and Learning Center in Redwood City.
The event will include SamTrans ambassadors greeting museumgoers, sharing information about the district’s programs, and distributing commemorative Rosa Parks posters. The Black History Month wrapped electric bus will also be parked in front of the museum throughout the event.

When: Tuesday, Feb. 4, from noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Domini Hoskins Black History Museum and Learning Center, 890 Jefferson Ave., Redwood City
This marks the second year of SamTrans’ partnership with the museum, highlighting the agency’s ongoing commitment to celebrating diversity and promoting equity in the communities it serves.
“We are honored to celebrate Black History Month with our community and highlight the impact of transit-equity champion Rosa Parks,” said SamTrans General Manager/CEO April Chan. “We hope our event and specially wrapped bus inspire conversations about equity, history, and art.”
