SamTrans operated special service to San Francisco 49ers football games for more than a quarter of a century, as well as the Bay to Breakers footrace for many years. However, due to changes in federal charter bus rules that affect public transit agencies such as SamTrans, we are no longer able to operate the service.

49ers service

Bay to Breakers
Caltrain provides special service to the Bay Breakers from a number of stations along the Peninsula. After arriving at the San Francisco Caltrain Station, participants can either walk or take the T Third Muni rail line to the starting line. Passengers may return on any of Caltrain’s regular Sunday trains, which leave San Francisco 15 minutes after the hour, until 9:15 p.m. Fare and schedule information is available here or by calling 1-800-660-4287 (TTY only: 650-508-6448).
