Local fares are paid on all routes that are not mentioned in the above fare chart.
Children: One child (age 4 and younger) rides free with each adult, senior or adult-disabled farepaying passenger. Additional children subject to youth fare.
** Persons with disabilities or seniors (65 years or older) who present a Regional Transit Connection Discount Card or Department of Motor Vehicles DisabledPlacard ID Card, or Medicare cardholders may ride for a discount fare.
Passes are on sale between the 21st of each month and the 7th of the following month.
Passes may be purchased at any of our vendors.
Route KX is a mixed-service route and offers express service into San Francisco. Patrons traveling into San Francisco may pay the full local or express fare upon boarding. Those paying the full express fare receive an “Express Fare Paid” receipt to be deposited in the farebox at the end of trip. Patrons without “Express Fare Paid” receipt at end of trip must pay the additional fare.
Tokens
A package of Tokens gives the rider up to a 20% discount over paying cash fares on
local routes. Multiple tokens or a token and the cash difference may be used on an
express bus or on Routes 391, 292 or 397 out of San Francisco. Tokens are available
in packages of 10 only.
- Adults: $16/pkg.
10 tokens with $2.00 ride value each
- Youth: $10/pkg.
10 tokens with $1.25 ride value each
Credit Card Acceptance
You may purchase SamTrans monthly passes with your Visa, Discover or MaterCard by
mail or at SamTrans headquarters, 1250 San Carlos Ave., 2nd Floor, San Carlos, CA
94070-1306.
